Maddison & Sebastian’s love story began in one of the most unexpected yet familiar places, work! In the quiet days post-2020 lockdown with hardly anyone in the office, they had plenty of time to chat, laugh and really get to know each other. Then came that first Friday night after restrictions lifted… the bars reopened, the team went out for drinks and as they say – magic happened.
Fast forward to their wedding day at The Marion, a stunning lakeside venue in central Canberra, with sweeping views across Lake Burley Griffin and the tree-lined foreshore. The couple embraced the autumn season, crossing their fingers for golden hues of red and yellow leaves to complement their celebration. The style? Elegant yet bright, letting their talented florist take the creative reins. And let me tell you, it was nothing short of breathtaking.
What truly made the day special was the presence of all their favourite people. As Maddison & Sebastian said themselves, “When can you truly have all your friends and family in one place again?” The joy of the day was not only about two people becoming one, it was about community, laughter and shared love.
Their ceremony and reception flowed effortlessly at The Marion, a venue known for its light-filled spaces and modern sophistication. It was the perfect setting for a celebration full of warmth, heartfelt moments and plenty of dance floor energy thanks to DJ Callum Gracie!
Maddison & Sebastian also have some wise advice for couples in the planning stages: “set your budget, then have 20% on top in reserve!” They also encourage choosing vendors you vibe with: “Vendors are experts, trust them. If you get on with them, they get you and, in your budget, then listen and go with the flow!” And perhaps the best reminder of all: If they are proving difficult in the beginning, not worth it.”
