Tucked away on the Mount Majura Road, The Truffle Farm Canberra was the perfect setting for Jessica and Michael’s elegant celebration of love. Their wedding day was a beautiful mix of modern flair and timeless charm, set against the backdrop of the Australian Capital Territory’s golden countryside.
Jessica and Michael’s love story began with a spark, quite literally, when they matched on Tinder during the October long weekend in 2018. At the time, Jessica had just moved to Australia from overseas and was living in Bondi, while Michael happened to be in town from Canberra on a bucks party. Although it took a few months (and a fair bit of travel), they finally had their first date in May of the following year, Jessica making the trip down to Canberra to see what this Aussie guy was all about. Spoiler alert: it was worth it!
Fast forward to 2023, and Michael popped the question in Amsterdam. After a couple of nervous false starts, he finally worked up the courage (thanks to some of Amsterdam’s famously indulgent brownies) and asked Jessica to be his forever.
Their wedding was every bit as heartfelt as their story. The styling was a seamless blend of modern and classical, with crisp details, romantic tones and a relaxed yet refined atmosphere that truly reflected who they are as a couple. But the moment that stood out most? Seeing each other for the first time at the end of the aisle. “That was what we were most looking forward to,” they shared and the emotion in that moment said it all.
As their photographer, it was such a joy to witness the laughter, love and connection between not just the two of them, but their beautiful family and friends too. There was a lightness to the whole day that made it feel truly special — honest, joyful, and completely them.
And when asked what advice they’d share with future couples? Jessica and Michael said it best: “Try not to get too wrapped up in planning the perfect wedding.” Because at the end of the day, it’s the love, the laughter and those once-in-a-lifetime moments that matter most.
