From a cheeky schooner offer at the local pub to hitting the dance floor at their black-tie wedding, Emily and Laurence’s love story is nothing short of epic. These two first crossed paths after Laurence returned from a year living in the UK (apparently a bit taller than Emily remembered!) One week and a lot of playful texting later, they were off on a spontaneous road trip to Sydney for a music festival. Nine years, a bunny, a home, and countless late-night kitchen dance parties later… they tied the knot in absolute style at the breathtaking Somerley House in Sutton Forest.
Set along the picturesque Illawarra Highway in the Southern Highlands of NSW, Somerley House provided the perfect blend of timeless charm and elegance for their black tie, garden party celebration. Think old money aesthetic meets modern romance — crisp suits, flowing gowns, lush greenery and seriously good vibes.
Their engagement? Pure magic. Laurence proposed during a peaceful Sunday afternoon picnic at Nara Peace Park by Lake Burley Griffin, one of their favourite Canberra spots. He set up his camera “for a photo” and as Emily turned, there he was on one knee. The cherry on top? A romantic dinner at Rebel Rebel to celebrate the moment.
Their wedding day was filled with energy, laughter and love, exactly what you’d expect from a couple who dances their way through life. From heartfelt vows to late-night grooves, these two seriously know how to party. (Yes, that was Emily behind the DJ booth dropping bangers like a pro 🪩🎶)
The dance floor was electric, the food and drinks were flowing and the love was absolutely palpable. It was an honour to be part of it all and to capture the kind of authentic, joy-filled moments that make wedding photography so special.
