I always have this joy of capturing fun and authentic images of beautiful love stories, and Bianca & Matt’s wedding at The Marion in Canberra was exactly that. Their day was full of laughter, heartfelt moments and a love story that had been years in the making.
Bianca and Matt first met at work training, where Matt’s persistence (and homemade lunches!) eventually won Bianca over. She was cautious at first, after all, this rugged Canadian hockey player was due to return home but soon enough she found herself at hockey games, weekends at the hockey group house, and realising she’d found something special. Matt, on the other hand, knew after just a few nights out and a hungover morning or two that he wasn’t going anywhere. Their love only grew stronger with adventures across the world, from Banff and Hawaii to an unforgettable (and hilarious) trip to Vegas.
In 2022, Matt proposed to Bianca in Calgary on a rooftop ice rink after dinner, a perfectly romantic nod to his Canadian roots. From that moment, their wedding planning began with a clear vision: a boho-inspired celebration with warm browns, neutrals and just a touch of cowboy charm.
Their wedding at The Marion, Barrine Drive in Parkes ACT, brought all of that vision to life. The sweeping views of Lake Burley Griffin and the elegance of the venue perfectly paired with Bianca & Matt’s relaxed yet stylish vibe. Surrounded by their closest family and friends, they promised forever and then celebrated the night away with plenty of dancing.
Their top tip for future couples? Organise it early. It takes the pressure off and gives you the freedom to enjoy the fun parts of wedding planning (and of course, the dancing at the end of the night!).
