Where do I even begin to describe Sarah and David’s dreamy wedding day?! These two chose the stunning Brassey Hotel Gardens in Barton for their heartfelt ceremony, which is such a beautiful private space surrounded by lush greenery. Equally matched by their choice of reception venue, The Marion, overlooking the picturesque Lake Burley Griffin in Canberra. Their day also included two other spectacular local venues – Hotel Realm in Barton for getting ready and the National Gallery of Australia (NGA) for their couples portraits.
I never expected to see a pyrotechnician and a self-proclaimed grandma to be good match – until I met David and Sarah! It does work well though.. David is known for his obsession with tending to their lawn or random wood working projects which gives Sarah plenty of time to snuggle up with a good book or work on one of her delightful crochet masterpieces!
But how did these two first meet? Starting a new class at CIT, Sarah was running late and quickly spotted a spare seat next to the most ‘normal’ looking person in the class. But for David it was love at first sight!
The pair reconnected when they both attended Sarah’s cousin’s wedding, where it turned out that David was a good friend of the family. From that point on, their love story took off, even though Sarah jokingly insists that David never actually asked her to be his girlfriend.
Fast forward to July 2023 on a holiday to Yulara in the NT. David got down on one knee in the red sand while watching the sun set over Uluru. It was perfect!
Being a part of Sarah and David’s special day was an absolute dream. From capturing the tender moments of their love story to witnessing the genuine joy radiating from their friends and family. It was an honour to document their authentic, beautiful moments and to play a part in preserving these cherished memories for years to come.
Their love and excitement were so infectious, I can’t express how grateful I am to have been there to freeze those once-in-a-lifetime moments in time. And I can’t wait to be a part of more joy-filled celebrations like this one.
If you’re also planning a special day, let’s connect and create some unforgettable memories together. I’m genuinely excited to be part of your beautiful love story!
